Nativelog — private beta

Time tracking for Jira Cloud whose data is the Jira worklog.

What makes it different. Every hour Nativelog records is a native Jira worklog, written under your name. It shows up in the Work log tab, in worklogAuthor = currentUser(), and in native reports. There is no second copy of your hours in an app database, so there is nothing to export and nothing to lose if you stop using it.

Before you install

You need Jira Cloud. Server and Data Center are not supported.
Installing an app requires a Jira administrator. If that is not you, this page is the thing to forward.
It is free for the whole beta, and for at least a month afterwards. You will never be charged without being asked first.
Try it on a real site with real work if you can. A sandbox will not surface the things a beta is for.

Installing

Open the install link we sent you, while signed in as a Jira administrator.
Review the permissions. Nativelog asks for four: read your user identity, read work items and worklogs, write worklogs, and app storage. Nothing else.
Confirm the install. It takes a few seconds and needs no configuration.

There is no setup, no project selection and no onboarding wizard. When it is installed, it works.

What you should see

1. On any work item

A Nativelog panel with a Start timer button, a Log time manually button, and a list of your entries on that item. Start a timer, wait a minute, press Stop.

Then open the item's Work log tab. The entry should be there, under your name, not the app's. That single check is the whole product — if it ever shows the app's name instead of yours, tell us immediately.

2. Your week

In the Jira sidebar, Apps → Nativelog opens your timesheet for the week: totals per day, every entry, and Previous / This / Next week. You can correct or delete any of your entries directly from there.

What we would like you to try

Use it for a normal week, on the work you were doing anyway.
Log a day you forgot, using manual entry with a past date.
Switch a running timer from one item to another and see where the previous one went.
Correct an entry from the week view, including its description.
If you work across timezones, check that entries land on the day you actually worked.
Compare a week in Nativelog against the same week in Jira's own Time Tracking Report.

What we most want to hear

The useful feedback is rarely "I like it". It is usually one of these:

A number that looked wrong, even if you are not sure it was.
Something you expected to be there and wasn't.
A moment you had to stop and think about what the screen meant.
The thing that made you go back to your old way of doing it. This one matters most, and it is the one people politely leave out.

Blunt is welcome. We would rather fix it now than read it in a review later.

If something breaks

Your hours are ordinary Jira worklogs, so they are safe in Jira whatever the app does. If a save fails, Nativelog keeps your timer running instead of discarding it and tells you so on screen — press Stop again once the problem clears.

Email [email protected] with your site URL, the item key, and what you saw. During the beta you will usually hear back the same day.

Leaving the beta

Uninstall from Manage apps in Jira. Nothing else is needed, and your logged hours stay in Jira — they are native worklogs, not our records. No export, no migration, no lock-in. If you leave, we would still like to know what made you leave.
